The Implementation Consultant works with customers to implement various Descartes solutions. The most commonly implemented solutions related to this role include transportation and mobile resource management applications. The Implementation Consultant participates in, and often owns and leads, customer projects. These projects typically consist of business process analysis, solution design, installation, configuration, testing and go-live support activities related to the implementation of Descartes’ solutions. The Implementation Consultant is also responsible for training activities related to the implementation and deployment of Descartes’ solutions.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Analyze customer’s routing, scheduling, transportation management and related logistics operations and recommend improvements based on customer’s operational requirements.
•    Document workflows and results of business analysis, including interface requirements. 
•    Design and configure systems according to client/server architecture.
•    Apply knowledge of best practices to implement and configure Descartes’ solutions.
•    Train customers on Descartes’ products and solutions.
•    Interface with customer IT/IS department to facilitate software configuration and design changes.
•    Respond to customer questions and provide post-implementation technical support.
•    Collaborate with the customer and Descartes development team to propose solutions that meet the customer’s business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
•    Maintain clear and professional communication with customers.
•    This position may require up to 30% travel.
 

QUALIFICATIONS & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain/Logistics Management, or related field of study is required.

SQL:

  • Ability to construct select, update, insert and delete Queries with multi-table joins (4+ tables).
  • Ability to create tables, stored procedures, and agent jobs.
  • Ability to analyze queries for improvements.

 

Server/Network:

  • Experience with managing IIS-based applications.
  • Ability to log files, application pools, etc.
  • Strong familiarity with Windows server environments.

 

 Programming/Integration:

  • Experience creating/reading XML documents.
  • Ability to interpret/create XSL translations
  • Ability to create xpath statements to read specific data elements from XMLs.
  • Scripting and/or programming experience preferred.

Location: This is a remote opportunity, open to applicants authorized to work in Canada or the United State

Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 CAD “Compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills as well as the years of experience you have. Similar positions located in different geographic regions will not necessarily receive the same compensation.”
