Descartes Systems (Germany) GmbH is seeking a Product Business Analyst/Product Manager for the Descartes pixi WMS|ERP solution. Customers of this product are typically e-commerce vendors/sellers (SME) as well as big 3PL fulfillment providers with complimentary business needs. 

This position is responsible for assisting Product Management to execute on the strategy guiding the Descartes pixi WMS|ERP software delivery of software releases. This position writes feature requirements, creates user stories and acts as the product liaison in daily stand-ups and SCRUM meetings. The successful candidate will quickly understand priorities and be able to coordinate feature backlogs for all releases of the platform. 

This position leads the translation of software features into technical requirements (Features) and follows Agile Scrum based software development. This role serves as part of the Product Management Team and reports to the pixi Head of Product Management.



  • Support in assessing value and prioritization of stories, epics and themes by working alongside Product Management to ensure work focus aligns with comprehensive product strategy
  • Support in review and prioritization of incoming customer/internal requests through Ideas Portal
  • Be responsible for conversion of internal and external customer requests into feature descriptions and user stories
  • Groom the backlog in preparation for sprint and release planning
  • Clearly define User Stories and Acceptance Criteria per feature
  • Engage in effective Agile Processes (Scrum and Agile Hybrid) and Cross Functional communication
  • Ensure efficient and effective solution delivery process
  • Take over the Product Owner role
  • Support in writing User Documentation & Release Notes 
  • Collaborate with Customer Support, Professional Services, Marketing, Sales to understand customer needs & conduct root cause analysis 
  • Report risks / obstacles to the team (Product Managers, Head of Product Management) and to the Technical Product Manager


Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s (BA or BS) or comparable education in business, computer science, or related field
  • Two years previous experience as a business analyst or in a related field
  • Certification for Pragmatic Marketing or Product Ownership preferred but not required
  • Solid understanding of the product lifecycle
  • Basic understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products, and up to date on industry standards and best practices
  • Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of software development
  • Comfortable working with multiple teams and leadership, in-house and remote
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills (English, German)
  • Able to build interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Significant depth of knowledge of ERP/WMS processes 
  • Willing to learn, continuously improve and research new topics
