POSITION SUMMARY

The role – Mapping Analyst, will primarily focus on handling map analysis and development and assist end to end testing with Descartes’ internal teams and external B2B clients/customers.  It is therefore fundamentally integral in the solution design, execution and delivery of projects to meet a client’s requirements and to ensure projects are delivered in full, and on time. 

 

Working days are Mondays through Fridays, regular hours and depending on project need, may be required to work outside the usual working hours to complete project deliverables.

 

You will be reporting to the Activations Manager (Asia region).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)

  • Works closely with Activations team to ensure proper identification of requirements, implementation and rollout of EDI projects.
  • Develops and builds EDI mapping specifications and maps based on EDI requirements from clients.
  • Applies simple to moderate mapping changes to EDI data translation maps.
  • Works closely with clients to perform verification and end to end testing to ensure EDI maps are delivered/promoted to production free of defects.
  • Assist and participate in the map deployment activities during scheduled cutover dates, i.e. promotion of mapping components to production environment.

 

SKILLS AND ATTITUDE

  • Strong knowledge of EDIFACT, ANSI X12, XML as well as EDI connection protocols such as AS2, VAN, FTP, sFTP, HTTPS; experience on xslt mapping is a plus
     
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
     
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
     
  • Great attention/focus to details

 

  • Ability to analyse and perform critical reasoning and in-depth analysis of customer requirements and translate these into valuable EDI solution to drive the project to completion
     
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University/College degree, preferably IT or Computer Science
  • Good understanding of electronic document formats and communication protocols
  • Good understanding of the basic supply chain processes – considered an asset
