We are looking for a sales professional to join us in the role of Sales Executive. You’re a highly energetic, skilled sales professional with a proven track record of customer-centric and consultative sales in cloud software and business solutions.  Preferably, you will have domain experience in the logistics, supply chain, and/or transportation management solutions/services industry.  Moreover, you will have the gravitas to engage and interact with senior executives and operational management to activate opportunities for where Descartes can drive continuous improvements that drive bottom line results. 

Reporting to the Vice President of NA Fleet Solutions Sales, the Sales Executive is responsible for attaining overall revenue goals, increasing account share, and developing high level business contacts and relationships.


  • Highly energetic with a clear confidence in one's own ability to exceed under pressure 
  • Self starter and team player with the ability to cite clear examples as well as objectives achieved.
  • Critical thinker who is naturally curious, seeks to learn, and can think around a problem from the detailed tactics to the overall strategy
  • Clear understanding of how logistics and the effectiveness of an organizations supply chain impacts the bottom line.
  • Lead by example to bring fresh ideas and contacts into the organization to drive opportunities. A charismatic personality, which provides access to networking opportunities with senior executives of large enterprises.   

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Create demand and awareness of product portfolio through prospecting target  accounts and current clients
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline by engaging, managing, and developing contacts within the director through C-level ranks of companies with fleet and transportation operations
  • Achieve sales targets as set by company 
  • Stay up with the latest marketing strategy on product updates
  • Work with pre-sales and solution team members to understand prospects’ requirements, qualify, and develop the right solution fit.
  • Responsible for revenue within a defined region or vertical market.
  • Mining of existing accounts for additional opportunities within those account

Required Skills:

  • Experience in supply chain / logistics, transportation, and related industries
  • Experience in consultative sales at an executive level.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
  • Sales Executive preferably with experience selling some type of enabling technology or consulting expertise into the Transportation or Logistics Industry. 
  • Operational experience an asset.
