Position Summary 
The Solutions Consultant will play a key role in Descartes’ sales organisation by teaming with the sales team to drive Solution and Services sales within the UK and Europe. You will develop a solution strategy in combination with Sales Account Executives for new and existing accounts that will differentiate the Descartes Systems Group (DSG) from its competition. You will develop a "trusted advisor" relationship with internal DSG sales professionals and customers to drive revenue growth and will team with other DSG resources to improve the customer experience and drive profitable solution and services sales.  

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong commercial mindset, technical acumen and business knowledge to take responsibility as an Ecommerce and Warehouse management subject matter specialist.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Leads discovery process to help qualify an opportunity from both a business and a technical perspective. 

  • Creates and manages product demonstrations to support the sales process for: 

  • Ecommerce Solutions 

  • WMS 

  • Transfers knowledge to other participants on the deal and/or account teams. 

  • Supports for RFI, RFP, proposals, presentations, and other customer communications during pursuit. 

  • Establishes the validity of a solution and its components with both short- and long-term implications. 

  • Partners effectively with others to ensure problem resolution and customer satisfaction. 

  • Builds customer loyalty through being a trusted advisor. 

  • Applies consultative selling techniques to advance opportunities. 

  • Anticipates and plans for competitive threats within a sales opportunity. 

  • Works with customer IT and Business management to develop an accurate understanding of business needs and feasible solutions. 

  • Gathers and assesses customer needs, both business and technical, and create a high-level solution design with integrations as required. 

 

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Extensive technology sales and/or pre-sales experience. 

  • Expertise in logistics, supply chain and/or transportation systems role. 

  • Technical acumen. 

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. 

  • Language skills: English / preferable proficient in a second language. 

  • Ability to present to both small and large groups. 

  • University Degree or equivalent experience.
