The selected candidate possessing a solid database analysis, development, and deployment background will join our .NET development team. The candidate will support the development and deployment of our web-based and client-server multi-platform applications.

 

Duties include:
•    Analysis, design, and support databases in MS SQL database environment.
•    Develop and maintain methodologies for support of multiple database versions in development, QA, and production environments
•    Specific database development and change control activities as follows:
o    Development and maintenance of SQL and PL/SQL scripts
o    Development and maintenance of SSIS packages
o    Database backup/archiving/purging procedures
o    Database support through 3rd party database tools
o    Source-code control for database object creation
o    Updates to the logical and physical database designs
•    Provide consulting and support for front-end application developers in the following areas:
o    Effective utilization of data and database resources
o    Optimization of stored procedures and SSIS packages
o    Use of functions and triggers
o    Tuning data queries
o    Best practices for MS SQL
o    Report design and development
•    Providing input to management on specific technology/platform changes to be used in stetting new direction for the department
•    Create and maintain data dictionaries and ensure database documentation is current and complete
•    Troubleshoot database and SQL problems as required
•    Contact for all database issues (assisting the Technical Support department)

 

Qualifications:
•    University degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
•    Minimum 5 – 7 years relevant work experience in an SQL Server DB Developer role
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
•    Strong interpersonal, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills mandatory
•    Working knowledge of MS SQL Server tools, Enterprise Manager, SSIS, and Query Profiler
•    Strong TRANSACT – SQL and PL/SQL skills
•    Experience with .NET technologies and Crystal Reports would be assets
•    Experience in a commercial software development environment would be an asset
