The Senior Development Manager is entrenched in the subject matter and provides staff management, mentorship, and oversight to the development team. Also, this role is responsible for team management, opportunity identification, business development support, annual planning, budgeting, and key reporting.  

 

Working as part of our Innovations team your duties will include:  

  • Managing resources and leading the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals 
  • Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders 
  • Provide management and internal stakeholders with an effective primary point of contact and ownership for planning, delivery, reporting and management of technology solutions 
  • Ensure all development engagements are completed as proposed and quality is achieved.  
  • Manage our agile product development processes. 
  • Work with the Product Managers and Principal Architects to help plan product roadmaps and delivery schedules.  
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills to provide technical oversight across systems and applications 
  • Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects 
  • Staying on top of technology trends and developments 
  • Manage multiple application development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for the teams (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions) 

 

Excited to face any new challenge, you will bring to this position the following skills and qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field required; graduate degree preferred but not required. 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role including leadership experience 
  • Experience managing Cloud Based solutions using an Agile Methodology, preference given to AWS/Azure based solutions.  
  • Experience with current DevOps and engineering excellence tools like Azure DevOps, GIT, Azure pipelines. 
  • SDLC Experience and product delivery to customers.  
  • Experience using a variety of development tools, including, .NET, .NET Core, SQL, XML, JSON, HTML, JavaScript, and REST/SOAP web services 
  • Artificial Intelligence tools and development experience would be an asset 
  • Analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities are essential.  
  • Ability and passion for learning new technologies.  
  • Excellent communication skills.  
  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders both internal and external.
