Reporting to the Software Development manager, the successful incumbent will be a key member of the core Software Development team creating and supporting (internally and externally) SaaS Platform (Cloud-based, Federated Applications Suite, Fully Managed Web Services) of software products and services.  The applications are part of Descartes’ next-generation platform for Routing-and-Scheduling solutions and will require a combination of development skills and business logic.  You will have technical ownership for your functional areas and be expected to develop a deep understanding of complex Customer problems and how they can be turned into solutions, and will be engaged in the Research, Design, Development, Delivery, 3rd line Support, Systems Maintenance processes. The incumbent will also play a key role in assisting other areas of the organization in the successful setup and support for onboarding customers.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Your responsibilities are situated in the following domains:
  • Be a key member of the core Software Development team creating and supporting platform (Federated Applications Suite, Cloud-native Applications, Fully Managed Web Services) of software products and services 
  • Design and build innovative solutions that can solve complex problems in a real-time, high volume, transactional multi-tenant SOA/SaaS environment 
  • Work with cross product, cross functional teams in a cutting edge technical environment constantly pushing the envelope
  • Technical ownership for your functional areas and understanding of Customer problems and how they can be turned into solutions
  • Research, Design, Development, Delivery, 3rd line Support, Systems Maintenance
  • Act as a resource for the implementations team to assist with the setup and support of onboarding clients.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience with a primary focus on cloud-based API and microservices development
  • Technologies include:  C#, .NET, SQL Server, Entity Framework and microservices
  • Extensive experience working with SPAs, Angular, NGRX, TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of object oriented design and SOLID principles
  • Commitment to good “clean code” development practices, including source control, bug tracking, object-oriented design, and developer-driven testing
  • Strong focus on Quality, Reliability, Sustainability, Scalability 
  • Excellent verbal and written documentation skills


Education:

  • University degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent experience
