Descartes Ecommerce is a division focused on helping businesses navigate ecommerce logistics challenges at every stage of growth.
Our shipping and fulfillment software helps small and midsize ecommerce merchants run efficient operations by automating shipping workflows so end-customers can get their orders on time and as expected. Shipping and fulfillment software is necessary for businesses of many shapes and sizes, and it is our team’s responsibility to help make sure they have the right tools for the job. Whether helping merchants access their first commercial carrier accounts or leveraging our APIs to build custom, fully integrated shipping solutions, our onboarding team is responsible for our customer’s first interactions with our team.

Your Role: Activations Development Representative
You love to have an immediate impact through relentless pursuit of warm prospects. You will follow up with hunt leads that have begun to sign up for one of our shipping products, but not yet fully enabled it. You will be responsible for driving activations from these leads in order to help understand their shipping process, show them how our products can improve efficiency in their business and guide them through the setup process to maximize activations.
You will report directly to our Customer Success Onboarding Manager for Descartes Ecommerce division.
You thrive with autonomy and clear goals. You have a license to try new things, work with the onboarding team and marketing operations to drive measurable results and will be directly responsible for helping customers get to their initial moment of delight using our products.

You can make or break the decision of new prospects to choose between our products or one of our competitors products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate contact with companies that who sign up for a trial accounts with Descartes through cold calls, email outreach, and personalized messaging to assist in setting up their account.
- Conduct onboarding calls to understand their needs and goals
- Educate and enable them , technology currently being used, challenges, and pain points.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our shipping products in order to effectively guide a customer to enable and use their Descartes Shipping account.
- Accurately record and update lead information, interactions, and progress in our CRM system.
- Provide regular reports on lead generation and customer activations, including key performance indicators and progress toward goals.
Qualifications:
- You have a minimum of 1 year in a Business Development experience with eCommerce SaaS technology.
- You have a thirst for problem solving. Your greatest reward is finding new value through the use of technology for a customer.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, accountable and to driven to achieve metrics based goals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development.
Location: This is a remote opportunity and open to applicants authorized to work in Canada or the United States.
Salary Range: $55,000 to $75,000 USD “Compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills as well as the years of experience you have. Similar positions located in different geographic regions will not necessarily receive the same compensation.”
