We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Scientist to complete our AI/ML team at Descartes Systems Group. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the data science initiatives, leading the design and implementation of AI/ML solutions, and fostering innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data science side of our AI/ML team, overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate prototypes into production-ready solutions, working closely with software engineers and product managers.
  • Lead the design and implementation of our data lake infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 data scientists, with responsibilities for hiring and team growth over time.
  • Define and communicate the data science vision for AI/ML across the entire company, driving innovation and adoption.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry experts, to showcase our AI/ML capabilities.
  • Engage internally across the organization to garner buy-in for data science initiatives, collaborating closely with various departments to identify opportunities and address challenges.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the data science team, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AI and ML, with a proven track record of building and deploying AI and ML models in real-world applications.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Python programming for data analysis, modeling, and software development.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, enabling effective communication with our diverse customer base.
