Descartes is currently looking for an Back-End developer to complete its agile mobile communication software development team. The Descartes wGLN is a cloud distributed backend SaaS solution that provides the business logic used to standardize and monitor millions of daily near real-time transactions between our various mobile and dispatching solutions.
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled .NET devops developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our software’s. As a Devops developer, under the supervision of the Team Lead, you will actively participate in our research and development initiatives as well as the design and development of our current platform.
Responsibilities
• Follow and contribute to implement the technical vision of the wGLN backend systems.
• Document requirements and issues.
• Perform and develop unit testing and peer code review.
• Anticipate and assess complex issues and propose adapted solutions.
• Apply software development processes and policies defined by the development management team.
• Participate to software releases.
• Collaborating with coworkers to facilitate the creation of large, complex developments, as required.
• Remaining abreast of coding and technological change that will impact your work
• Automate and simplify our development process.
Requirements
• University degree or college diploma in software development or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in agile methodology.
• Good knowledge and at least 5 years experience in C#, .NET and SQL languages.
• Good knowledge and applied experience with GIT
• Good knowledge and applied experience with .NET EntityFramework
• Good understanding the microservice architecture.
• Good knowledge and applied experience of Devops operations preferable such as:
o Able to setup a docker environment
o Able to setup MS Devops Pipeline workflow for release using YAML format
• Knowledge of one or more of the following is an asset:
o MSSQL, or equivalent database
o .Net Core 8, MQTT, RabbitMQ
o AWS and Azure cloud environments
o Newrelic instrumentation
o Graylog
Location: This is a hybrid position and requires the employee to come our office in Sorel-Tracy a couple of days per week.
